Since its beginnings in 2014 the Ultra-Trail® World Tour has gradually expanded to include the most iconic and prestigious ultra-endurance trail running races around the world.
From 10 events in 2014 the Ultra-Trail® World Tour now features nearly 30 events from 22 countries across 5 continents. The circuit brings together the most iconic and prestigious long-distance trail running races on the planet. All participants in UTWT races will now earn “Running Stones”, designed to facilitate and accelerate access to the popular UTMB® Mont-Blanc races. A great opportunity for all trail running enthusiasts to explore the world by having the chance to go beyond their limits.
The original roster – which included races held in Hong-Kong, Spain, New Zealand, Japan, Australia, Italy, USA, France and Switzerland – has now been joined by events in Croatia, Portugal, Austria, Canada, South Korea, China, Russia, Turkey, South Africa, Argentina and Oman.
The 2020 season kicked off with the 10th edition of Vibram® Hong Kong 100, followed by Tarawera Ultramarathon. With some of the events forced to be cancelled or postponed, UTWT 2020 still managed to deliver a roster of iconic and new races, returning with the Golden Ring Ultra-Trail® held in the town of Suzdal, in the heart of Russia and finishing on a high note in atmospheric Javelina USA.
